Michelle Waldele was born in the Pacific Northwest. She began her art education at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, receiving her Bachelor's of Fine Art degree in 1987, with a major in drawing and minor in metalsmithing. The following fifteen years she worked as a scrimshaw artist and illustrator of children’s educational books. Michelle recently resumed studies at Gage Academy to develop her eye toward the rich colors and subtle tones of classical realism. In addition to her painting, Michelle teaches art to both adults and children at the Arts Umbrella in Bothell, Washington. Site
